The BuildUPspeed project held its seventh Consortium Meeting virtually, bringing together 19 participants on the first day and 17 on the second. Led by María Ibáñez and Sara Dorregaray (ACR), this meeting marked a symbolic moment: the last online gathering before returning to in-person encounters.
The meeting kicked off with excellent news: the European Commission officially approved the project amendment on June 24, 2025. The changes include the transfer of coordination from ABT to ACR and an 8-month extension, setting the new closing date for June 30, 2026.
The team presented the new online prototype of the Market Activation Platform (MAP), which already includes catalogues of experts, solutions and success stories, interactive maps, and a three-level authentication system. Next step: facilitating content upload through forms and Excel templates.
Progress on the Pop-Up Factories (PUF) was reviewed, although the consortium acknowledges there’s still work to be done to complete the pilots through the established templates.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are structured across three impact levels: buildings renovated during the project, renovations in the following 5 years, and replication potential in new ecosystems.
The second day focused on the six flagship results of the project: the MAP platform, financial consultancy, pop-up factory scenarios, service package, Reuse Box and Reuse Truck, plus the Spanish training programme.
The 5 completed roadshows events revealed crucial findings: the main barriers remain funding gaps and regulatory challenges, but there’s strong enthusiasm for pop-up factories and the MAP platform.
The consortium closed the meeting by defining the following actions and confirming the most anticipated news: the next meeting will be in-person in March or April 2026. See you face to face!
