The BuildUpSpeed project participated in the Sustainable Places 2024/2025 congress, one of Europe’s leading events in sustainable construction. Together with partners such as UIPI and IVE, the team took part in the workshop “Building Renovation in Practice: Challenges, Solutions, and Collaboration”, a space to drive the renovation of the building stock.
During the session, key tools were presented to overcome barriers to energy renovation:
Renovation Passports: facilitate step-by-step renovations
Harmonised energy certification (EPC/SRI): enable performance comparison across countries
One-Stop-Shops: simplify the process from advice to execution
Industrialised methods: prefabricated solutions that reduce time and costs
BuildUpSpeed highlighted its contribution to industrialised renovation through the Market Activation Platform and Pop-up factories.
A central theme was the implementation of the EPBD 2024 Directive, exploring how these tools can help achieve the sector’s decarbonisation goals.
The participation reinforces BuildUpSpeed’s commitment to knowledge transfer, developing replicable solutions that contribute to the European renovation wave towards more efficient and sustainable buildings.
